I liked this article, but the one thing that bothers me about authors who talk about leaving the rat race is that so many of them act like the only way to do it is to get rich online. Working online is fine, and yes, some people hit it big online, but it's not necessary. You could work part-time on a farm or sell things you make, and just have a part-time job you love. Nevertheless, here is the article. Any thoughts?

I liked the article too, lots of interesting possibilities. For me living in Tokyo and teaching English for over a decade was a great alternative to the 9 to 5 lifestyle at home. I enjoyed the student interactions, I earned lots of money, and I had months off each year to explore the world. Tokyo life can be a challenge. It’s insanely crowded and noisy. At the time I found it all exciting, part of the adventure . . .
